An Eventful October: Art Things and FREAKING COMIC CON!!1! (Kaaro's Ramblings #4)

Hello hello hello all you beautiful people! That's right, you!

I know it's been a while since I've last uploaded anything and there is a good reason for that. I've just had no time where I could sit down and watch anime. With the increasing amounts of school work, talks about my future becoming more relevant, and numerous events occurring in such a short span of time, the luxury of being in my room and having an anime binge has been withheld from me, by me. In fact, the only possible way for me to stream through some anime is if I sacrificed a dangerous amount of sleep, which I am already missing out on.

Poor poor Kaaro... *This is when you say "awww".*

I'll just use this post to update you on what I would have done for October and what I actually did instead:

October WAS going to be a horror month (as is the case everywhere else that celebrates Halloween traditions) and watch and review several horror type anime. I was actually really hyped about this because horror is a relatively new genre for me to explore. There's just this emotion you feel when you see blood splatter across walls and witness the dismembering of animated body parts. It pleases that deep dark sadistic part of my being...
Red Like Fire 6: Burn

But instead of sitting in my room, eyes locked onto my laptop screen, as per usual, I did stuff! Yay!

Let's get the gross ew stuff out the way first. I've had a fe-... I've had a lot of down-there episodes this past month. Maybe it was the additional stress from a project I was doing (which I will mention below), but how I have been interacting with my inner world has been less than sufficient to keep it from openly expressing its distaste with reality. It intensified to the point where I questioned what the benefit of having an imagination was. The imagination is a double edged sword. It can create mountains from nothing but dirt and can spoil the greatest of utopias...
However it was not all bad. Out of these spoiled utopias I managed to create, what I think, are the greatest pieces of art I have ever made! (You should go check it out HERE on my Facebook page.)

Double edged sword.

I like swords.

New trend?
I think so.
On another art related note, I won a competition where me and several others were given £400 bursaries in order to direct and produce our own art films regarding the topic of "Is the future green?". It was such a stressful number of weeks, but as of the 20th of this month, it has been completed. I titled my film "INK" on account of the sheer amount of ink used in the production of the film. In fact, so much ink was used that I was able to make a grown man cover himself in ink (as well as multiple bits of green paper). ALL IN THE NAME OF ART! *ehem*

The best bit now is that it is now part of an exhibition near where I live. You have no idea how happy this makes me feel. It is the first thing I have ever made that has been allowed to be present in an actual art gallery exhibit.

I hope one day, I can contribute more of my stuff to a gallery. Maybe even one day have an entire gallery room full of just my stuff...

Playing Pokémon Snap!
Something feels off about these Pokémon.
I can't figure out what though.
Last but not least: I went to the MCM London Comic!!!111!one!!!1!
It was my first ever Comic Con, and the first time I have ever cosplayed.
I cosplayed as Pokémon Trainer Red from the original Pokémon games. Some people thought I was Ash from the anime adaptation, which honestly felt like an insult. I mean, how could they compare the greatness that is Red to that idiotic excuse of a Pokémon train- *cough*
Only realised she wasn't a Pokémon when she was
kicking my ass down in the middle lane.
(LOL reference, heck yeah!)
Back to Comic Con... It was an amazing experience. Honestly, it was the first ever time that I felt comfortable in London. I think it was the cosplay... Note: the next time I go to London I must be dressed up as someone from an anime, manga or game. I felt far too cool for my own good walking around the city of London in cosplay.
The number of people who went to Comic Con was suffocating, as expected. Thankfully, me and my little brother got priority tickets. Two full hours of calmly strolling from stall to stall was bliss. It is very reassuring seeing the multitude of people out there who appreciate the same kind of things I do.

October was fun...

Thanks for reading, unless my rambling made you fall asleep. In that case, sweet dreams!

I will try my best for my next post to be an anime review. I really miss doing them!

I've never heard of anything like this "Totaro" back in Kanto,
so I tried to catch it.
But instead,
it captured my heart. <3
